UpFront utilizes existing biomarkers in a novel application using a patented diagnostic algorithm. The company developed a blood-based immunoassay delivered in a lateral flow test at point-of-care. The test, administered prehospital and onsite by paramedics, diagnoses the presence of LVO in suspected stroke patients. Positively identified LVO patients can be triaged directly to thrombectomy-enabled hospital, increasing access to treatment while reducing time-to-treatment and risk of disability.
